The Adventure Babies got the band back together to play live for one last time. The gig was at Stafford Rangers Social Club (in Stafford) on Saturday 25 June and tickets are only two pounds. It was also co-songwriter and lead singer Matt Tedstone's birthday weekend and keyboard plater Ken Hughes's actual birthday so a lively and vocal crowd of friends and family and others gathered at the Stafford Rangers Social Club so see and hear it all happen. Redspot.org, who provided technical support on the night, this was to be the very very very last gig the "AdBabs" will ever perform. This combination of Stafford and Manchester based musicians was the last ever band signed to the Factory Records. Tony Wilson is reported to have insisted on seeing the band practice in a living room somewhere in town.." The setlist included Barking Mad, Laugh, Camper Van, How Mortal We Are, Captain Scarlet, WYSIWYG, Great British Weather, Lifetime at the Sink, ROlling In From The Coast and many more old and new favourites. A new album of old and new material entitled 'Once Upon A Time The End', some of it from the unreleased 'Worthy Originals' album was also on sale priced 8.00 GBP. The band on the night featured at one time or another the following personnel, some of whom required more coercion than others to perform: Matt Tedstone (vocals) The detailsStafford Rangers Social Club -- Thanks to Dave Hall for info. |
